"Revenge for justice" came upon the state after 27 years, as an organization it was considered "terrorist" by Berisha and PD and was placed at the center of the Albanian political debate, the 10 members were found innocent of 17 crimes

Organized crime in Albania has gained great power, so much so that it has shockingly succeeded in subjugating society through money laundering activities, violence, threats, corruption, but together with society, the political class and state institutions. Nowadays, powerful criminal elements have managed to turn into big entrepreneurs and even elected deputies and leaders of local government. The control and subjugation of the state by organized criminal gangs dates back to when pluralism won in Albania. In the clash between visible and invisible groups, quite a few people have lost their lives, even some of them were high state officials. The 90's in Albania have been characterized as a chaotic period where violence and barbarism went on in the open without concern. Establishing order and security was a major challenge for post-communist democratic governments. The reason is often considered not to be the incompetence of law enforcement and state bodies, but the great cooperation between organized crime and state bodies. The recent decision of the Supreme Court that finally acquitted the organization "Revenge for Justice" for justice for 17 serious events such as: murder, robbery, etc., prompts us to think why all these serious and terrible crimes remain in a number large unbleached. The case of "Revenge for Justice" is an exception to other powerful criminal groups in Albania, as they were used in the "political trial" that the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party held and are holding against each other. In today's issue we will focus on the two serious crimes for which this organization has been accused and convicted by Albanian justice: the execution of the General Director of Prisons, Bujar Kaloshi in 1996 and the mafia murder of the driver of the General Prosecutor, Theodhori Sollaku. Genci Sina in 2003 in Tirana. In addition to the progress of the court proceedings for these 2 crimes, we will also bring back an interview given by Altin Arapi, a member of "Revenge for Justice" who attacked the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha for having anathema, defamed, persecuted, ill-treated family members of him and Shyti, with whom he is related, and the disappointment of the families of the victims for the failure of justice for the discovery of these murders. What was "Revenge for Justice"? It was considered a "terrorist organization" by the government

On October 12, 1996, 4 days before the local elections, the police organized a large operation in the center of Tirana, where an arsenal of weapons was found in the apartment taken by citizen Enkelejd Agaj. The police structures and the president of the time, Sali Berisha, together with the leadership of the PD, accused the sons of the family of the former deputy minister of the interior, Aredin Shyti, who was serving a 17-year sentence in Bênça Prison, as the organizers and leaders of this criminal group. for "indirect intentional murder" related to the events of April 2, 1991, when 4 young people from Shkodra, Bujar Bishanaku, Arben Broci, Nazmi Kryeziu and Besnik Ceka, were shot dead by police forces, as they protested and participated in the demonstration against the result of the victory of the Labor Party in the first pluralist elections of March 31, 1991. Aredin Shyti, serving his sentence since 1992 in the same prison as the former prime minister and head of the SP, Fatos Nano. In the report of that day on the Albanian Public Television, "Revenge for Justice" was described as a "terrorist organization with a political character to overthrow democracy", created in 1992 by Orik Shyti, the son of Aredin Shyti. This organization consisted of 120 members, among whom intellectuals, doctors, professors, etc. were mentioned. The police stated that they had found: "secret communication codes"; "the organization's platform and scheme of operation"; "plans for the crimes they had committed from 1992-1996 and those they would commit, including the assassination of the current prime minister, Sali Berisha, who at that time was president. DP in power at that time, spurred on by Berisha's rhetoric, he accused "Revenge for Justice" of having hidden 1 million dollars of theft in the safe of the former architect of the "Pyramid of Tirana", Klement Kolaneci, the son-in-law of the former dictator Enver Hoxha. Albanian justice tried for 27 years 10 people as members of "Revenge for Justice": Orik Shyti, Leart Shyti, Altin Arapi, Dritan Hatën, Gent Cakë, Nikoli e Pasho Novruzajn, Gëzim Gjoni, Roland Shyti and Kreshnik Spahiun. Some of them who were arrested themselves, years later, have seriously accused Berisha and the institutions of the time of torturing them in prisons to accept false accusations and sign false statements. The murder of the former Director of Prisons, Bujar Kaloshi, here are the "legends" of why he was executed

On July 26, 1996, 40-year-old Bujar Kaloshi, General Director of Prisons, was executed by two people after he had left his apartment and was went to work. His murder was billed to the group "Revenge for Justice", specifically Orik Shyti and Altin Arapi. The voices and rumors of the time alluded that the sons and grandsons of Aredin Shyti took revenge after Kaloshi had ordered the mistreatment of their father. However, these "legends" were never proven.

Altin Arapi's claim about Bujar Kaloshin: Berisha fabricated everything

In an interview given in 2008 to the journalist Klodiana Lala in "Gazeta Shqiptare", Altin Arapi, who escaped to Belgium after the murder of Genci Sina, the driver of Theodhori Sollaku, categorically refused to be the killer of the former director of prisons, Bujar Kaloshi. According to Arap, the state and the institutions of the time manipulated the statements, the evidence, charging the crime to himself and his cousin Leart Shyti. He directly accuses the chief of police station no. 2 of Tirana, that he offered a witness 10 million ALL to blame him and his cousin for the serious incident. Arapi emphasizes that this major police official was then rewarded with another post by the government of the time.

The murder of Bujar Kaloshi, the general director of Prisons, weighs on your shoulders....

I am answering the question with a question. Why should I kill a man I have never met, who has never done me the slightest harm? Even Berisha's bandits were looking for a reason. After giving up the political reason, they said that I killed the deceased because he had punched his uncle who was in prison. Since this was not very wise to stand, they chose another reason: the deceased had destroyed the pots with flower seedlings, which the uncle grew in the prison. I have not heard of any other invention, but I know very well that I am the fourth in the line of murderers. At first Berisha had proved that the murder was committed by an X, then by a Y, on October 16, 1996, the murder was committed by Leart Shyti, this is what is written in the communiqué of the Ministry of the Interior, even in the minutes with "statements" of Leart is described in detail how he had "killed him". The reason "accepted" by Leart was that the deceased had driven into his path and did not want to back out of the mistake. Prosecutors dropped the charges against Leart, but forgot to tear up the records, which the attorney has provided to the court. But the court, although the same as the first court, declares all the scientific evidence invalid, it condemns me that "the defendants said so" in the forests of Mount Dajti. What should the court do when they hear Saliu's screams about the 'killer' and 'superkiller' Altin Arapi?! No witness says that I am a murderer or a thief, but there is a witness who goes to court, called by the prosecutors, and declares in front of both courts that: "It was precisely the chief of Police Station No. 2,

The trial for the murder of Kaloshi, the witness Gorgo: The head of the police station gave me 10 million ALL

On October 7, 2000, a man in his 50s testified in the Serious Crimes Court that he had seen the two murderers of Bujar Kaloshi on the day of the crime. The witness, named Gorgo, admitted that two tall guys with slightly blond hair, dressed in sports and who looked like basketball players, asked him what time it was. He then saw them get into a white Benz vehicle. After the shooting, he was immediately taken and sent to police station No. 2 to testify. He stated in court that the head of the police station offered him 10 million ALL, but without saying for what reason. Gorgo failed to identify any person as Kaloshi's assassins in the photographs presented to the police station. In addition, the witness disputed 2 signatures placed on the minutes given at the police station. The lawyers asked for the dismissal of the case since none of the 123 witnesses and neither the prosecution could substantiate the charges against Altin Arapi, Orik Shyti and Enkelejd Aga. But the court did not accept this.

Justice's decision, Altin Arapi and Orik Shyti were sentenced to life, here are the other decisions.

Years later, the Court of Appeal of Serious Crimes decided to uphold the decisions of the first instance for "Revenge for Justice". Specifically, Altin Arapi and Orik Shyti were sentenced to life imprisonment; 25 years for Gentian Caka and Roland Shyti, 24 years for Leart Shyti, Nikolin Novruzaj, and Kreshnik Spahiu; 23 years for Dritan Haten. The Appeal of Serious Crimes changed the sentences for Pasho Novruzaj and Gëzim Gjon, returning the sentences of 22 and 10 years in prison to 17 and 5 years in prison.

The execution of the driver of the former chief prosecutor Sollaku with a pistol with a silencer

On September 29, 2003, the former guard Genci Sina, who for years served as the driver of the former Prosecutor General, Theodhori Sollaku, was killed with a bullet by a person in the center of Tirana, near the traffic lights of the big bridge of the Lana River. . He was transporting the family of prosecutor Sollaku, his wife and daughter. At the moment the vehicle stopped after activating the "stop" signal of the traffic light, a person approaches in a taxi, gets out and shoots Sina with a silenced pistol to death. Sollaku's wife and daughter were shocked by the sight. On October 30, 2003, Altin Arapi was arrested in Belgium for this crime, against whom an extradition order was issued from Albania. Arapi was charged after the DNA on the fingerprints found on the door of the car driven by guard Sina matched his DNA. In Albania, the police arrested on the same day as Arapi, his fiancee Imelda Tasho. She worked as an employee in the Directorate of Analysis and Prognoses in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She was accused of having helped her fiance during the crime by accompanying him by taxi and then reported everything related to the investigation that was being done by the justice for the murder of Genci Sina. On March 10, 2005, Arapi was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Genci Sina, while Imelda Tasho was sentenced to 2 years in prison for "not reporting the crime". They appealed in April 20025 the sentence given by the First Degree of Serious Crimes at the Appeals level. has reported everything related to the investigations that justice was doing for the murder of Genci Sina. The key witness was the taxi driver, he immediately left for the USA.

The Arab was identified by the testimony of Sollaku's wife. But a key witness who was expected to speak about the September 29, 2003 crime, the taxi driver who accompanied Altin Arapi and his fiancee Imelda Tasho, never came to court to testify. He immediately left for the USA, but Albanian justice never called him to give his testimony about the night of Genci Sina's murder. Arapi later successfully avoided being extradited to Albania, as the Belgian state claimed that his human rights had been violated by Albania. Arabi has asked Belgium to obtain the status of political asylum.

Arapi for the murder of Genci Sina: All evidence, statements, etc. have disappeared.

In the interview for "Gazeta Shqiptare" in 2008, Altin Arapi accuses the justice bodies of the time of having destroyed the material evidence and the testimonies of eyewitnesses at the scene where Genci Sina was killed. Also, he added that the evidence of the waiters and the bar where the murderer sat before the crime, the data on the identity card of the author, etc. have also disappeared. "I emphasize that they do not appear in the file, that is: the testimonies of the eyewitnesses who saw the event, of which there were dozens, have disappeared from the file. The testimonies of the waiters, bartenders and customers of the bar where the person who committed the murder dined have disappeared from the file. The dactyloscopic examinations of fingerprints that were made at the place where the person dined have disappeared from the file. The first verbal testimonies in the illegal confrontation between the witnesses and the defendant have disappeared from the file.

The state does not grant the status of martyr to the former guard Genci Sina

In October 2021, the son of the former driver killed by the former Prosecutor General, Theodhori Sollaku, opened a court process for his father to be recognized as a martyr, after killed in the line of duty. Lusjos Sina received the statements of the former head of the Guard in 2003, Arben Çuko, who confirms that Genci Sina was officially transferred to transport the family of the then chief prosecutor, Theodhori Sollaku. The scandal is that in 2011, the District Council of Tirana recognized the martyr status for Genci Sina, but the special commission for establishing this status rejected such a thing.

Genci Sina's wife: She was killed for Sollaku's work, the state is to blame

In December 2019, in an interview for the show "Top Story" on "Top Channel", the wife of Genci Sina, Albana Sina, insists that her husband was killed because of his duty, that he served the family of the General Prosecutor of the time, Theodhori Sollaku . The widow adds that her husband was killed by the Albanian state itself. "Genci has no personal problems, Genci was killed by the General Prosecutor who served him. There was no reason to kill him in the middle of the boulevard with the lady, he could very well kill him where he was. The general prosecutor was killed, the state killed me", said Albana Sina.

The Strasbourg court dismissed Arapi's claims of human rights violations in 2015

The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg decided in July 2015 to reject the request of Altin Arapi, sentenced to life imprisonment in Albania, to recognize the violation of his rights, including some parts of documents, used by him as evidence. The court also published the exchange of letters between the Albanian and Belgian authorities, where the latter refused to extradite Arap, judging that there were irregularities and inconsistencies in the actions of the Albanian institutions. Altin Arapi remained a political refugee in Belgium after that, but Strasbourg ruled that his human rights were not violated during the trial, which sentenced him to life.

Justice "180 degree turn", this is how he justified the innocence of "Revenge for Justice"

In 2016, the Supreme Court decided to bring back the "Revenge for Justice" file for trial on merits. On February 13, 2017, the Court of Appeal of Serious Crimes declared all members of this organization innocent, giving a decision totally different from the First Instance. Even though Straburg did not find human rights violations in the court proceedings against Altin Arap, he was still pardoned. In the decision, judges Alaudin Malaj and members Artur Kalaja, Stavri Kallço, Sotiraq Lubonja and Etleva Temo decided that the evidence against 10 members of "Revenge for Justice" has disappeared, their statements have been falsified, a defendant has been taken as a witness, there are minutes no date, the organization's program was forged, etc. On February 22 of this year,

Viola Kaloshi in 2017: My father was killed twice, the hour of justice has run out

The daughter of Bujar Kaloshi considered the acquittal of "Revenge for Justice" in 2017 as murder for the second time of her late father. On February 14, 2017, she accused SP and organized crime and justice on social networks for the scandalous decision against this organization. Kaloshi considered these crimes even more serious than those of the time of communism. "With deep pain I learned the news of the 'murder for the second time' of my father Bujar Kaloshi. The hours of justice have already been covered by the great avalanche of injustices, the Chakans' thirst for power, organized crime, corruption and drugs, etc. They even exceed those of the infamous dictatorship", commented Viola Kaloshi.

Brace attacked Berisha in 2017: Because of you, 'Revenge for justice' sought asylum in the EU

Socialist MP Erion Braçe, a permanent "lawyer" of "Revenge for Justice" accused former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the former leader of the DP in February 2017, after the Appeal of Serious Crimes declared "Revenge for Justice" innocent, of having conducted politically motivated, anti-legal and unfair trials against 10 members, which has led many of them to seek political asylum in the EU. "What about these EU countries that for 20 years have given 'political asylum', once again 'political asylum', to these 'bandits' announced by Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha, dominated by bandits? The decision was not made today (yesterday)! Shout in vain! In the EU, they have been making this decision for years. The bandits announced by you are political asylum seekers, protected in EU countries. That is, the decisions of the courts here, in your time, have not been taken into account in the EU, on the contrary, those decisions have given political asylum to them. Can you explain this to us?", Braçe commented.
