Dutch prosecutors have seized a piece of land near Amsterdam that belongs to the former son-in-law of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
The plot of land in Duivendrecht is owned by Jorrit Faassen , a Dutch businessman who was married to Maria Vorontsova, the eldest daughter of the Russian president.
Dutch cadastre documents show that the land was seized as part of a criminal investigation.
Faassen, who lives in Moscow, reportedly faced questioning by authorities at Schiphol airport after flying to the Netherlands recently, according to foreign media.
Both Putin's daughters, Maria and Katerina, were added to the EU and US sanctions lists in April 2022, shortly after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
