A serious event was recorded in the Flanders region of Belgium where a 33-year-old man killed his 28-year-old pregnant wife and a 5-year-old child in Termont.

The man appeared at the police station at 06:30 on Saturday morning, confessing his act, reports the rtl network.

Authorities who went to the scene found two bodies in one of the rooms of the house.

"We cannot yet talk about the cause of death. We can say that it is about a pregnant woman and her five-year-old child," said deputy prosecutor Bernadette Bayens.

At the same time, the head of the area's police emphasized that no details will be given until the end of the investigation.

The author underwent blood tests to determine whether he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The couple was married and lived in the apartment for 6 months. The television network notes that according to the witnesses, there was no tension between the two spouses.
