The USA declares three people 'non-women', among them the former head of the secret services
Written by SOT.COM.AL 15 Mars 2023
The Treasury Department in the United States of America has blacklisted three people from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among them is the former director of the Intelligence and Security Agency, Osman Mehmedagiç.
The news was announced by the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, through a post on the social network 'twitter' where he writes that these sanctioned persons have obstructed the rule of legal institutions and have dealt with drug trafficking.
"Today we sanctioned three people in Bosnia and Herzegovina who threatened the rule of law, undermined institutions, obstructed or threatened the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and contributed materially to the international spread of illegal drugs," Blinken wrote.
According to Bosnian media, Mehmedagi? is accused of using 'BH Telecom' to collect information on the mobile phones of politicians who were not affiliated with the Democratic Action Party (SDA).
"In his official capacity as Director General of the BiH Intelligence and Security Agency, BiH citizen Osman "Osmica" Mehmedagiq misused the state telecommunications company in favor of the Party for Democratic Action (SDA), one of the most major political issues in BiH...", says the report published by the US Department of the Treasury.
There is also reliable information that Mehmedagiç cooperated with criminal groups to enrich himself and his political party.
