In Russia, the election campaign for Vladimir Putin has practically already started, given that the elections are at the end of March 2024 and it is speculated that the presidential elections in Ukraine may also be held on the last day of March. Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and former associate and close advisor of President Volodymyr Zelensky Oleksiy Arestovic insist on this. However, the issue has fueled a conflict between the two most popular people in Ukraine, President Zelensky and the commander of Ukrainian forces, General Valery Zaluzhny. So, both Brussels and Washington are advocating that the elections be held despite the war situation, as an indication of the "strength of democracy" and the Western values ??that Ukraine is fighting for. However, according to the independent Russian portal Meduza, which was declared "undesirable" and a "foreign agency" in Russia, it will only be an incentive to place the main "emphasis" on "Russia's existential struggle against the evil West" , which threatens, as increasingly emphasized in the pro-regime media, "Russian civilization and tradition". Putin's Russia will want to present itself as "the last island of stability and true sovereignty", because, as the commentators of the pro-Kremlin agency RIA Novosti write: "The USA is on the verge of collapse, they are not supporting Ukraine and now they still have to help Israel" and adds: "They are definitely coming to an end." It is interesting that the Russian media does not pay much attention, that is, not as much as would be expected, to the "conflict" mentioned between Zelensky and Zaluzhni, but surprisingly, the Russians, it sounds a little strange, insist on elections in Ukraine. However, this looks more like the usual transparent Kremlin wartime propaganda.
