A controversial female judge has been suspended for three months after appearing half-naked and smoking in bed during a court hearing on Zoom.

Colombian Vivian Polania turned off her laptop camera after being warned by a bystander that she was being filmed in her underwear, but the 33-second video later went viral.

A lawyer made a formal complaint, opening an investigation that led to a disciplinary committee telling the 34-year-old she was suspended until mid-February.

The decision comes two years after Vivian spoke out against critics who attacked her for photos she posted on social media showing off her muscles, as well as tattoos on her back.

The release of the photos in Colombian media led her bosses to claim she was endangering the administration of justice by affecting public confidence in her ability to do her job properly.

Reports at the time said she had come under investigation after sharing racy photos of herself in her underwear.
