The Putin-Kim Jong Un meeting ends, the Kremlin clarifies the details, here's what was discussed

Face-to-face talks between Kim and Putin at a Russian spaceport have just ended. The Kremlin stressed that UN sanctions against North Korea will not hinder its ties with Pyongyang.

According to Russian state news agency TASS, when asked about sanctions against North Korea, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said:

"Russia maintains its position in the UN Security Council, but this cannot and will not prevent the further development of Russian-Korean relations."

The United Nations has passed nearly a dozen resolutions sanctioning the North since its first nuclear test in 2006.

When asked about reports of arms talks between the two, Peskov said "the full range of relations [between the two countries] means dialogue and interaction in sensitive areas, such as military interaction," according to state-run Russia 1 newspaper.

"All other issues concern only our two sovereign countries," he added. "And they should not be the object of concern for any third country. Our cooperation is carried out for the benefit of the peoples of our two countries, but not against anyone."

"North Korea is our close neighbor. And regardless of any outside comments, we will build relationships with our neighbors in a way that is beneficial to us and our neighbors.
