The Serbian minister asked for sanctions against Russia, the immediate reaction of the Kremlin is coming, this is what is expected to happen with Serbia

Written by SOT.COM.AL 14 Mars 2023

Russia has responded to the call of the Minister of Economy of Serbia, who urgently requested the imposition of sanctions to condemn the war in Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Moscow will solve this issue secretly with Belgrade.
"We understand perfectly what kind of unprecedented, harsh, illegal pressure, contrary to international law, is being exerted on many countries, including Serbia.
For Serbia in particular. And we greatly appreciate the position that Serbia has taken so far, we understand that conditions are changing, but we expect that the most problematic issues will be resolved within our confidential partnership dialogue with our Serbian friends."
Earlier, the Serbian Minister of Economy, Rade Basta, asked the government of which he is a part to urgently impose sanctions on Russia. He said that Belgrade has long been paying a high price for not condemning Russian aggression against Ukraine and that the situation is already becoming untenable. Basta added that the refusal to sanction Russia was done in the hope that the conflict would end quickly, but emphasizes that the reality is that the war is far from over and the voice of reason has run out.
"Small countries always suffer in the conflict of the big ones, and due to the global turmoil, Serbia faces terrible pressures", warns Minister Basta. The United Party, part of the governing coalition, has distanced itself from the call of its deputy. Regarding this issue, but also others, it is expected that the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic, will deliver a speech to the nation on Thursday.
