Steven Seagal, one of the icons of American action movies in the 1990s and early 2000s, has opened an aikido center in Moscow.

Foreign media write that Seagal aims to prepare young Russians to join the Russian armed forces, as well as soldiers.

At the opening of the "Typhoon" center, the actor was enthusiastic about the potential of the young people he saw during his visit, stating that it is important for the development of aikido to move forward at a faster pace.

"The young people I saw today have great potential," said the 70-year-old, as reported by TASS. "We must open more such centers to develop them. It is important that the development of aikido takes place at a faster pace", he added.

According to the official Russian state news agency TASS, the center aims to develop participants' traditional and modern aikido styles and directions, increase their motivation, provide opportunities to obtain a sports title and prepare young people for service in the armed forces. , but also soldiers to defend themselves.
