Heavy rain in northern France raises fears of further flooding
Official institutions in the north of France have said that schools and nurseries in 279 cities will be closed until Thursday with a number of 388 establishments affected.
This is due to the fact that the intensity of the rain is expected to increase on Tuesday, the local government of the country warned, foreign media write, Telegraph reports.
As media reports, four rivers in Pas-de-Calais and the northern part of the country - including the Aa, Canche and Hem - were on an orange flood alert on Monday according to Vigicrues, the official flood watchdog.
Meanwhile in the village of Neuville-sous-Montreuil, the owner of the restaurant Cyril Theriez was still removing the water from his house on Monday morning.
