Convicted of murder, the perpetrator is caught in the act while escaping

A man tried to escape from prison by disguising himself as a sheep.

José Luis Callisaya Diaz temporarily managed to get out of the Chonchocoro prison in Bolivia, where he was serving a sentence for murder. He disguised himself in the skin of a sheep in an attempt to "blend in" with the herd as he crept across the nearby fields. The prisoner was able to escape and was released on February 4.

But despite trying to blend in like a farm animal, Diaz was forced back into his cell after authorities caught him red-handed.

In a strange set of photos, José Luis can be seen on all fours wearing jeans and a sheepskin coat, and was captured walking across the grass imitating a sheep.

Since leaving prison, authorities have ordered legal and disciplinary measures against the prisoner.

The director of the penitentiary regime, Juan Carlos Limpias said: Prison security police officers from the San Pedro de Chonchocoro Penitentiary Center prevented the escape of prisoner José Luis Callisaya Diaz (alias El Araña), who took advantage of the bad weather in attempt to escape through one of the prison's outer perimeter walls.

Chonchocoro Prison, also known as San Pedro Prison or El penal de San Pedro, is the largest prison in La Paz, Bolivia.
