US drone flights over the Baltic Sea are a sign of direct US involvement in the conflict with Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today, Sunday (March 19).

"It is clear what these drones are doing and their mission is in no way a peaceful mission to ensure the safety of fishing in international territorial waters. And, indeed, we are talking about the direct involvement of the operators of these drones in the conflict and against us," Peskov said in a television interview, as reported by the Interfax news agency.
Russia has said it wants to recover the wreckage of a U.S. drone it is accused of shooting down in the Black Sea and to prove what it says is U.S. involvement in operations in Ukraine, while Washington said it was investigating the motives behind its involvement. Moscow in the incident.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu estimated that one of the causes of the accident is the "increase" in American espionage operations.

The MQ-9 Reaper fell into international waters in the Black Sea after being shot down, according to Washington, by a Russian fighter jet. Moscow admits it intercepted the drone with warplanes, but denies there was any contact between them that could have led to its downing.
Russia claims the drone entered the no-fly zone off the coast of Crimea, which it annexed in 2014, it has declared after invading Ukraine.
