Bill Gates predicts when the pandemic will end: This is the medicine that treats the coronavirus

The founder of the American company "Microsoft", Bill Gates said that the "acute" phase of the coronavirus pandemic will end next year.

Bill Gates called the new variant of the Omicron coronavirus "disturbing."

"It may not be wise to anticipate things, but I think the acute phase of the pandemic will end at some point over the next year," the American billionaire wrote.

Pharmaceutical companies have had great difficulty selling their flu vaccines in the past, as they have had a lower efficacy rate compared to other vaccines - and that is why scientists need to predict which variant of the virus will be more prevalent over a period of time.

However, Gates has a strong stance when it comes to therapies, and claims that pharmaceutical giant Merck has recently received FDA approval for its molnupiravir virus drug to be recommended to people at high risk for coronavirus.

"This drug 'significantly reduces the likelihood of hospitalization or death from COVID-19,'" Gates wrote.

He acknowledged that despite the massive production of coronavirus vaccines worldwide, many people are dying from COVID-19 this year, even more than a year earlier, acknowledging that the improvement this year "has not been" what Gates had waited.
