Fires in the territory of Albania, the State Police is placed on standby

The State Police is committed to fight against fires in the territory of the country.

During the last 48 hours, 33 fires were detected throughout the country and criminal proceedings were initiated for 32 of them.

Thus, throughout the country, 28 suspected perpetrators of arson were identified, of which 11 were arrested in the act, 16 were prosecuted at large, while 1 was declared wanted.

79 crime investigation specialists and criminological experts were engaged to conduct investigative actions for criminal proceedings initiated for arson cases.

Across the country, 28 suspected perpetrators of arson were identified, of which 11 were arrested in the act, 16 were prosecuted at large, while 1 was declared wanted.

440 police officers of the General Patrol, of the "Eagle" Special Force and of the Rapid Intervention, were maximally engaged in helping the firefighting and civil emergency services, to prevent the spread of fires.

The Police Services, in many cases, evacuated the residents, since the apartments and premises were at risk of being engulfed by flames.

92 police vehicles were available to police services, 30 of them Traffic Police vehicles, to manage road traffic on the roads in the vicinity of the fires.

The State Police appeals to citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, as this action constitutes a crime and is punishable by law.

It also invites them to report any such case to the number 112, with the aim of immediate intervention to extinguish the flames and criminal proceedings against the responsible citizens.
