The murder of the rhapsody and his friend, the Court sinks the perpetrator of the serious crime (VERDICT)

The 'life imprisonment' decision for Aleksandër Përdoda, the author of the double murder of the rhapsody artist Kol Murrani and his friend Preng Simon, is upheld. This was the decision given today by the Court of Appeal, which upheld the decision of the Lezhë Judicial District Court. The event in question happened in April 2020.

Referring to previous reports in the media, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction informs the following:

In the Lezhë Judicial District Court, the trial took place regarding the criminal case that belongs to the defendants with the initials AP and AL, accused of committing the criminal offenses of "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", carried out in cooperation, "Carrying without permission and the production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", as well as "Crime prevention", provided by articles 79 (dh) -25, 278/1 and 300/1 of the Criminal Code.

The alleged fact is related to the event dated 27.04.2020, where in the place called Lajmlukaj, Kolsh Administrative Unit, Mirditë Municipality, citizens with the initials KM and SP were found shot to death near their apartment, 150 meters from the house of the defendant with the initials AP In connection with the above event, the defendant with the initials AP has been charged, who had a property conflict with the victim with the initials PS. Also, the defendant AL has been charged with the criminal offense of "Criminal Negligence", provided for by Article 300/ 1 of the Criminal Code.

The Court of the Judicial District of Lezhë, with the decision no. 162, dated 27.04.2022 decided:

Defendant L's declaration of innocence, for the criminal offense provided for by Article 300 of the Criminal Code.
The guilty declaration of the defendant P, for the commission of the criminal offense provided by article 79/dh-25 of the Criminal Code, based on this provision, punishes him with life imprisonment.
The guilty declaration of the defendant P, for the commission of the criminal offense provided for by article 278/1 of the Criminal Code, based on this provision, is punished with 6 years of imprisonment. In combination of sentences, in application of Article 55 of the Criminal Code, the defendant AP is sentenced to life imprisonment.
The case on appeal was reviewed on the basis of the appeal made by the defendant AP, who requested the change of the decision, the not guilty declaration of the defendant AP, for committing the criminal offense of "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", committed in cooperation and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided by articles 79 (dh) -25 and 278/1 of the Criminal Code.
