The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Serbia, Nemanja Starovic, has stated that the withdrawal of the special forces of the Kosovo Police from the northern part would be a key step, which would be followed by a new assessment of the security situation by Serbia.
"After that, there could be the second step that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned," Starovic told REL.
Due to the tensions in the north of Kosovo, the authorities in Serbia announced on May 26 that the Serbian Army was placed on the "highest level of combat readiness", during which they deployed units and combat equipment on the border with Kosovo.
