Analyst Artan Behrami was invited this Friday to Euronews Albania where he spoke about the situation in the north of Kosovo.

Beram called Prime Minister Kurti's statements that he was elected by the people and not by the American ambassador as populist.

He underlined that Kosovo is vital to maintaining relations with the United States of America, since without Washington it cannot extend its sovereignty even to Prizren and not to the north of Kosovo.

"Kurti belongs to the category of populists who manage to bring out the dark side of their people. Ibrahim Rugova has managed to extract something extraordinary from the people of Kosovo. It has brought peace, democracy, kindness and partnership with the USA. Hashim Thasçi and his comrades in the war have brought out the courage of the Albanians who do not tolerate violence and repression and together with the USA have liberated Kosovo. Now we have a leader who manages to tap into the darker side of a people and bring out fascist elements. His statement shows that he follows a populist line and that all sovereignists in the world have the same line. But you should know that Kosovo cannot extend its sovereignty even in Prizren, and not in the north of Kosovo without the United States of America, which has 25 billion dollars for the peace and independence of Kosovo.
