The punch attack on Sali Berisha, the forensic medicine comes out with the last

The young man who punched former Prime Minister Sali Berisha last December is a person with mental problems. The 4 forensic experts came to this conclusion and the material was deposited in the Tirana prosecutor's office.

For this reason, the investigators have asked the court to stop the investigations and impose compulsory hospitalization for Gert Shehu. The 31-year-old has been kept in solitary confinement in prison 313 in the capital since last December.

A date has not yet been set when the prosecution's request will be examined by the court, while the charges of assault due to duty and intentional wounding are expected to be dropped because Shehu can no longer be prosecuted.

The event happened on December 6 of last year when the sheikh punched former Prime Minister Berisha in the face during a protest called by the opposition.

The 31-year-old managed to cross the security perimeter and punch Berisha. This is not the first time that Shehu faces justice.

He turns out to be a person with previous criminal records, as he was initially arrested with a quantity of cannabis, while in 2017, he was fined for beating a person.
