Kosovar poet Xhevdet Bajraj passed away last night, in Mexico, where he had been settled for a long time.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has reacted to the sad news, saying that the writer will "always live like a star that never goes out".

"Kosovo's greatest living poet is no longer alive. Last night the dark sky had one more star. The glow between us is the sparkle above us. As I write with longing and pain, I bend over to read the titles that stand vertically in my library: My Piece of Heaven, The Years That Did Not Bring Spring, The Juice of Roses, The Freedom of Horror, Some Grape Grapes of Rahovec, The Murder of the Mosquito, "When the vines cry, Coffee with Mother, With Heart in Nylon Bag, The man who played with angels… Xhevdet Bajraj will always live, like a star that never goes out", writes Kurti.
