 Today, the media in Kosovo have published the testimony of the woman who accompanied Hamide Magashi on her last walk, before she was killed by her ex-husband, Sokol Halili in the maternity yard in Pristina. The victim's relative says that she had accompanied the 35-year-old deceased to go out and buy bread, before the murder happened.

Hamide Magashi was hospitalized at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo as she was expected to give birth in the following days. After they had gone out of the clinic to buy bread, Hamide Magashi met her ex-husband Sokol Halil in the courtyard of the hospital. She discovered the conversation that the victim and the perpetrator had between them, at the moment when Hamide Magashi saw her ex in the courtyard -her husband.

"He came to talk to the woman. She told me that he is my ex-husband and distanced herself to talk to him. When they met, he bent down on both knees and was telling her something", said the relative of the victim.

The victim's family members accuse the police authorities of the serious incident that shocked Pristina, where Hamide Magashi was killed with two bullets by her ex-husband, in front of the maternity ward while she was waiting for the birth of the child. The sister of the 35-year-old woman has announced to the local media that the victim was provided by the court with a protection order from September 13, which was valid until March 13 of the following year. Other close family members of the victim also say that the 35-year-old had physical violence before and psychological by her ex-husband, while the police remains to blame for them.

However, the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, after the meeting of the Interministerial Group regarding the murder of a pregnant woman, said that if it is proven that any of the links in the system have failed, there will be resignations, dismissals and even criminal prosecution.
