Gazmend Boletini, the great-grandson of Isa Boletini, in an interview for Euronews Albania showed the reason why Isa Boletini did not accept the post of minister offered by Ismail Qemali.

"His modesty showed he was dedicated to the national issue and the problem that had arisen. Ismail Qemali showed personally and officially that he had Isa by his side in the moments of the declaration of independence in Vlora. Therefore, he asked his people to ensure the identity of Ismail Qemali, Isa would appoint from his people, the two boys who could not enter Ismail Qemali's residence without their permission. After that, Ismaili offered him the position of minister of war, Isa refused and said that I have other work to do now", said the great-grandson.
