The usual trial for Mediu is accepted, says the lawyer of the family members

The lawyer of Gërdec's family members, Dorjan Matlija, said in a statement to the media after the end of the session this Friday for the former Minister of Defense Fatmir Mediu, that the court accepted the usual trial for him.

Matlija stated that they agreed with this decision.

"In this session, the defendant's request to go to the ordinary trial was accepted, so the court accepted as right the request that the defendant always has the right to waive," he confirmed.

Meanwhile, the lawyer commented that the 90 witnesses who were called by Mediu's defense.

"Today's movement of Mr. Mediu through his defenders was to justify the request to make an ordinary trial. During the ordinary trial everything can be done from scratch. In the list of witnesses I heard names that were in the process and others that were not. All the people who were not in the process, as far as I know, are only related to the fact that why Albania should do the dismantling, but not how Albania would do the dismantling, the Court is not why the Ministry of Defense dismantled weapons at the time it was Minister Fatmir Mediu, the trial is how this dismantling was done, who gave the orders to do it where, how, by whom, with what technology and under whose supervision," said Matlija.
