Here are the 12 high-ranking SP officials who have fallen into SPAK's net

12 high-ranking socialist officials, some of them close collaborators of Prime Minister Rama, some of whom are among the closest in years, are today either ex-convicts, or behind bars, or under investigation.

The latest to be added to the list of the 'twelve' from SPAK's investigations is one of the prime minister's earliest friends, Ilir Beqaj, former Minister of Health, who was accused only a few days ago of "abuse of duty in cooperation".

Ilir Beqaj is accused by SPAK of the concession of sterilization in health, a concession denounced by the opposition and concretized in the courts by Endri Shabani on behalf of the 'Thurje' movement. The Special Court communicated to Beqaj this Monday why it had decided against him the security measure "obligation to appear" as well as the ban on leaving Albania.

In fact, the first important figure of the Socialists to be accused and convicted by the new justice was a rising political star until then, the former Minister of the Interior, Samir Tahiri. He was sentenced by the Court to 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment, on the charge of abuse of office, while he served only 16 months in prison. This is after the Court of Elbasan argued his release with a report from the Institute of Forensic Medicine, which stated that the wife of the former Minister of the Interior, due to health problems, cannot take care of the couple's two children.

In terms of hierarchical importance in state duties, this list is headed by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, accused perhaps even more harshly than all of Edi Rama's associates in these 10 years of power. Ahmetaj, currently on the run, having left Albania just a few hours before SPAK's decision to request his detention was made public, is accused of corruption, money laundering and concealment of wealth. Ahmetaj headed Finances and Reconstruction, being the number two of the Government with the last post, from where he also signed dozens of decisions on behalf of Prime Minister Rama.

The other former minister, Lefter Koka, first left by the socialists to the LSI and then approached by Rama himself to the SP, carries today one of the issues considered as the biggest corruption affair of these 30 years, that of the incinerators. Together with Koka in the cell is former deputy Alqi Blako, former Director of Water and Sewerage.

Meanwhile, the former mayors seem to continue to be an even longer list. Without mentioning those who were presented to SPAK but without charges against them, there are six former mayors who have either served the sentence, or are in jail or under investigation.

Vangjush Dako, due to his importance both in the party and for his connections with Edi Rama, is in a cell today, as he has been arrested and imprisoned. Dako, also mentioned in the files investigated for a long time, such as 339, for election manipulations, is today in the cell only in connection with the tender for the purchase of the project for the development of the coastline, from the area of ??Bryl to Currila in Durrës. He is still waiting for the end of the investigations for the Special Court to decide on his fate.

Another close associate of the prime minister, Safet Gjici, former mayor of Kukës, is today under accusation by SPAK for abuse of office and corruption, after the sexual video scandal published in the media. He was accused of giving the 'dog sterilization tender' to a woman who was denounced after a video of her having a sexual affair in his office.

Fatos Tushe, the former mayor of Lushnja, served the sentence of 2.4 years in prison, given by the Special Court after the request of SPAK. Tushe was accused of abusing canal cleaning tenders.

The fourth mayor indicted by SPAK is Lefter Alla, former Mayor of Bulqiza, who is accused of violating equality in tenders.

The fifth mayor from the ranks of the SP, who is accused by SPAK, is Fran Tuci, former mayor of Fushë-Arrzit, who is accused of abuse of office.

The 6th mayor, who is being investigated by SPAK, is that of Rrogozhina. Edison Memolla is accused by the Special Prosecutor's Office of active corruption in the March 6 elections.

The seventh Mayor from the ranks of SP, accused by SPAK is Kreshnik Hajdari. The mayor of Kuçova is accused of falsifying documents in the decriminalization form, as he did not declare a sentence he received from the Court of Ioannina.
