A 19-year-old man was arrested by the police after he was caught moving in the village of Llenga in Pogradec, equipped with firearms, explosive weapons and ammunition.

It is learned that the young man, Halit Kalanxhi, was taken into custody, and a firearm, a pistol, 3 detonator capsules, a comb and cartridges for the pistol, as well as a shotgun were seized from him.

Kalanxhi is charged with the criminal offenses of "Illegal Possession and Production of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Ammunition" and "Illegal Production and Possession of Hunting and Sports Weapons".

After several weeks of proactive investigations, the police operation codenamed "Liquid" is finalized for the crackdown on a case of illegal weapons possession.

The 19-year-old man was arrested red-handed while walking on foot, in the village of Llëngë, equipped with a pistol, a shotgun, detonator capsules and military ammunition.

2 weapons, ammunition for them and 3 detonator capsules are seized.

As a result of an investigation followed for several weeks, with proactive methods, in cooperation with the Korca Prosecutor's Office, based on information provided by police intelligence, that a citizen possessed weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition, the services of the Pogradec Police Station have finalized the police operation coded "Liquid", as a result of which the citizen was arrested in the act:

-HK, 19 years old, resident of Hondisht village, Pogradec.

During the checks carried out on the 19-year-old, who was located and detained in the village of Llënga, a firearm, a pistol, 3 detonator capsules, as well as a comb and cartridges for the pistol were found in his bag, while a shotgun was found with him. . All illegal items were seized as physical evidence.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, investigations are continuing to clarify the circumstances of this case and the purpose of this citizen.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution, for further actions for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unauthorized production and possession of hunting and sports weapons".
