"A great loss for all the separation from the life of the Honor of the Nation, the well-known artist"/ Ilir Meta gives the bitter news about the well-known figure

The chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has expressed his pain over the death of the great painter Sali Shijaku. In a post on social networks, Meta remembers meetings and conversations with him, as he says that the endless gallery of his artistic works and monuments, which exalted national culture and art, will remain unforgettable.

"Sali Shijaku was the painter of one of my most beloved Heroes, Vojo Kushi.

He was only 9 years old when he was awakened in the middle of the night by the sounds of guns and bombs. He had also experienced as an eyewitness one of the most heroic events of the Anti-Fascist War, the glorious Epic of the Red Hill. From that day on October 7, 1942, he lived with that event and dreamed of immortalizing his Hero Vojo Kushi.

But when everything was finished, the censorship blocked his painting because Vojo on the tank was barefoot and without shoes. That's why they asked the artist to "wear" Hero's shoes. But this overturned the whole work of the Master. So he sent them again without changes. "And where are the shoes?", they ask him.

"Didn't the Party say that the barefoot people made the war", - answered the artist slyly. "You are right, they told him, it is approved", writes Meta.

A great loss for all the separation from the life of the Honor of the Nation, the well-known artist, Sali Shijaku, one of the most prominent and important Albanian painters of the 20th century.

Meetings and warm conversations with him will remain unforgettable for me, as will the endless gallery of his artistic works and monuments, which exalted national culture and art.

Sali Shijaku ishte piktori i njërit prej Heronjve të mi më të dashur, Vojo Kushit.

Kishte qenë vetëm 9 vjeç kur ishte zgjuar në mesnatë nga krismat e armëve dhe bombave. Kishte përjetuar edhe si dëshmitar okular një nga ngjarjet më heroike të Luftës Antifashiste, Epopenë e lavdishme të Kodrës së Kuqe. Nga ajo ditë e 7 tetorit 1942 ai jetonte me atë ngjarje dhe ëndërronte ta përjetësonte Heroin e tij Vojo Kushi.

Por kur gjithçka kishte përfunduar censura ia bllokoi pikturën sepse Vojo mbi tank ishte këmbëzbathur dhe pa këpucë. Ndaj i kërkuan artistit t’i “vishte” këpucë Heroit. Por kjo i përmbyste të gjithë veprën Mjeshtrit. Ndaj përsëri ua dërgoi pa ndryshime. “Po këpucët ku i ka?”, e pyeten.

“Po a nuk ka thënë Partia që Luftën e bënë këmbëzbathurit”, – u përgjigj me dinakëri artisti. “Ke të drejtë, i thanë, aprovohet”.

Kështu mbijetoi tabloja e famshme “Vojo Kushi”, e piktorit tonë të madh, Piktorit të Popullit, Sali Shijaku, për t’ju mbetur trashëgim brezave si një kryevepër e realizuar me mjeshtëri të rrallë që mishëron në art një ngjarje të paharruar të Luftës Antifashiste.

Me talentin e jashtëzakonshëm ai shndërroi në art ngjarjet më epike të historisë, forcën shpirtërore dhe heroizmin e shqiptarit, vlerat e dashurisë për Atdheun, Kombin dhe Lirinë, si dhe një larmi figurash njerëzore.

Ai krijoi një pafundësi veprash e monumentesh artistike madhështore, siç është edhe një tjetër kryevepër e tij, Heroi i Lirisë Kombëtare, Mic Sokoli.

Për të gjitha këto vlera dhe kontribute të jashtëzakonshme, kujtimi i Nderit të Kombit, Sali Shijaku do të mbetet i paharruar dhe trashëgima e tij artistike gjithmonë e vlerësuar maksimalisht.
