The Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, comes out with a last minute announcement

The Minister of Education, Evis Kushi, through a post on social networks, has announced the signing of an important agreement for pre-university education workers. The Collective Labor Contract was negotiated with the Federation of Education and Science Trade Unions of Albania and the Independent Education Trade Union of Albania.

The announcement states that any teacher who reaches retirement age, regardless of whether it is the beginning or end of the school year, can continue working until the end of the teaching period, which lasts an average of 3 months.

We successfully finalized the negotiations for the signing of the Collective Labor Contract for pre-university education employees with the Federation of Education and Science Trade Unions of Albania and the Independent Education Trade Union of Albania, a contract which comes with several innovations in the interest of teachers and students .

Now, every teacher who reaches retirement age, regardless of whether it is the beginning or the end of the school year, can continue working until the end of the teaching period, which lasts an average of 3 months.

This innovation will bring students the beginning and end of a term with the same teacher, as a positive factor for the psycho-social development of students and better results in learning.

Teachers qualified as "working disabled", not only the teaching load, but also the time of stay at work will have in accordance with the decision of KMCAP.

The Chair of the Women's Commission and the Chair of the Youth Commission at the national level also benefit from a reduced teaching rate of 6-8 hours per week.

Also, for the first time the Collective Labor Contract is based on European Union standards and OECD good practices, aligning this contract with the contracts of EU countries.
