"They thought they were playing a circus because they remembered that they would not be investigated", the well-known journalist makes the shocking warning: SKY ECC's interceptions will clarify the connections of the officers and politicians with crime

Journalist Ferdinand Dervishi has commented on the SPAK operation, which led to the arrest of the former deputy director of the Tirana Police, Erzen Breçani, the Chief of Crimes at Police Station No. 6, Dedan Gjoni, and two others. While 6 people are being searched, including Ervin Mata and the son of Erzen Breçani.

Dervishi says that most of the police officials are connected to the crime and have used applications like SKY ECC, since long ago there were no real investigations and they thought they would not be solved.

"Thinking that there would always be a circus, these people did a circus two years ago, and they continue to do so. But now something is happening, things are being controlled. It's no longer a casual investigation, it's a real investigation. Brecani has also appeared in debates where he spoke about the police, he has all journalists as friends. It was a figure. It is very difficult to imagine how he could have muddied his name. He is not well remembered by those who collaborated with him. Brecani was a man who they show as brave in actions, he was seriously injured, the criminal shot him and he fought back. This is Erzeni who has surprised people what happened", said Dervishi.

According to the dervish, the most interesting character arrested in this operation is Ervin Mata, a person known for justice, after the clash he had with the gambling boss, Ervis Martinaj, in a bar in the former Block in 2018.

"From that file you can divide it into two parts, international drug trafficking and a second one, the perpetrators involved in the murder of two people have been identified. The most interesting characters are Ervin Mata and the most serious event is the one in the block", he said.
According to the journalist Dervishi, through receiving the Sky ECC interceptions, it is possible to get clues about many criminal acts and their disclosure. He says that it is said that the file of these interceptions is about 80 thousand pages, while he does not exclude the involvement of politicians.

"Receiving the conversations that have taken place, translating them and arriving at SPAK, a voluminous file, which some say is 80,000 pages. There you can get clues about all the criminal activity in Albania in recent years. No one knew that they were being tapped. Everything is there, detailed conversations. Even politicians can be involved", he continues.
About 70% of senior police officials have had access to apps like SKY ECC.

"70% of them have kept such phones and boasted to each other. From the chief of crimes and above, they have had such phones. They are not for talking to the wife. SPAK prosecutors must find where X phone number is connected to what event and find out who is hiding behind the phone number", said Dervishi.
