The General Directorate of Prisons has approved the request for permission of the former minister Saimir Tahiri, to participate in the funeral ceremony of his father.

From a video provided by Euronews Albania, Tahiri is seen participating in the escorting ceremony to the last residence of his father, Bashkim Tahiri.

He was filmed accompanying the funeral procession as he hugged his mother.

Saimir Tahir's father passed away yesterday at the age of 72. Through a touching letter from prison, the former minister made the news public saying:

"Oh Ba, how come you didn't wait for me? How the hell did you take this last road in such a hurry? May your soul shine up there!

You gave me the greatest gift ever, you made me a man. And stay calm there, don't worry anymore. Laugh and be happy as you do here with us. How many times did I get ready if I couldn't say it because it was hard for me, but I'm saying it now that you don't listen to me anymore: I love you so much Ba!

We all love you very much, my friend Bashkim. Forever!"
