Zamira Durda, the mother of the 7-year-old boy who lost his life in the Gërdec tragedy, said that even though 15 years have passed since that day, justice has not been done. In an interview for Euronews Albania, she underlined that the accusation of abuse of office against the officials must definitely change.

She has issued accusations against former minister Fatmir Mediu, saying that the latter is the only one to blame for the tragedy.

 
"The accusation of abuse of duty for the murder of 26 people should be changed, it is not." Without the order of the former defense minister, these ammunitions could not be released from the warehouses. These munitions have been in storage. The order to him causes them to go out into the Open Field. Fatmir Mediu is to blame for this tragedy. Everyone is guilty, from the president to the head of the village at that time. We are all in this battle together. We want justice. Politics has not influenced me at all, neither has it helped me nor has it implicated me" - she stressed.

She hopes that Gërdec's file will be clarified while adding that she sends any information to Strasbourg.

"I believe that the Gërdec file will be revealed. If SPAK does not clarify the Gërdec issue, it is in vain. I have the file open, every decision that is made here, Strasbourg is also informed. I have turned the bleaching of Gërdec into the motive of my life," she said.
