The changes in the police come into force, what should you know?

Starting today, the new organizational structure of the State Police comes into force, which will bring some changes. Based on the new judicial map, which also brought about the merger of some prosecutor's offices in districts, some police stations will change their jurisdiction.

The police station of Kavaja, which is currently part of the Tirana Local Directorate, will be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Durres Police. The police station of Kruja, which until now has been under the jurisdiction of Durrës, will be transferred to the jurisdiction of the Tirana Police.

The new structure is expected to strengthen sectors such as that of serious crimes, which with the new changes will focus only on the investigation of events or activities of criminal groups. As for crimes that have as a background banal conflicts or those within the family, the creation of a new sector has been considered.

Special attention has been given to cybercrime, which will now have a separate investigation sector in each local directorate. This change aims to increase capacities in the fight against cyber attacks or the investigation of crimes related to this field.

Meanwhile, another innovation that the new structure is expected to bring is the attention that will be paid to educational facilities. Thus, each police station will have 3 area specialists dedicated only to problems related to educational facilities. This change also comes after several incidents recorded in recent months in schools and high schools in the country.
