"Organ donation was my daughter's will, she had expressed it herself during family discussions", the father of 21-year-old Emmanuela, who "passed away" after a few days of battle in a hospital in Thessaloniki, told the Greek media.
21-year-old Emmanuela was hit by a car driven by a 26-year-old Albanian and was fighting death for days in one of the city's hospitals, while she breathed her last on Sunday, as her family members confess, reports abcnews.al.
"It is very important for me to know that life will continue from my child's organs. She is giving her life", said the tearful father of the 26-year-old.
The Greek court has today set the security measure for the 26-year-old Albanian, who is accused of seriously injuring the student from Chania, Crete, who died in Thessaloniki yesterday.
The young Albanian is accused of hitting the girl and then left the scene trying to hide. First, he is accused of throwing away the license plates and then making adjustments to the car so as not to be seen as having hit someone. This is an aggravating element for him according to the Greek media.
The serious incident happened after 01:00 on November 22 on "Egnatia" street in Thessaloniki, where the young Albanian hit the 26-year-old Greek woman, leaving her in a serious condition on the street. The license plate of his car was remembered by those present at the scene of the accident and given to the police, while others went to help the young woman lying unconscious on the road.
