The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has conducted investigations in relation to criminal proceedings no. 88 of 2023, which refers to the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328 of the Criminal Code.
From the investigative actions carried out in connection with this criminal proceeding, suspicions have been created that the KK citizen, residing in Kavajë, on 14.05.2023, the date on which the local general elections for the election of local government bodies were held, was promised and offered monetary sums to other persons in order to participate in the voting, to ensure the participation of other persons in the voting, as well as to determine the voting method.
In the framework of the preliminary investigations of this criminal proceeding, at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with decision no. 58, dated 09.06.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, has been decided:
- The appointment of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation KK, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", provided for by article 328 of Criminal Code.
