The EU will present a "consolidated plan" for the implementation of the proposal

The head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, confirmed that the European side has received comments from Kosovo and Serbia regarding the annex to the implementation of the European proposal for the normalization of relations between the two states.

"We will speak tomorrow [March 18] and make a consolidated version of the annex, based on their comments. And then, I hope that Kosovo and Serbia will agree on the final outcome of these talks. This implementation annex will be an integral part of the agreement, as we will specify how its provisions will be implemented," said Borrell.

Discussions on the implementation plan of the European proposal for the normalization of relations will take place during the meeting between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, which will be held on March 18 in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

The joint meeting will be mediated by Borrell, and the EU's special representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak. Washington's special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will also participate in the meeting as an observer.

Borrell emphasized that he is going to Ohrid hoping that there will be a unique chance for Kosovo and Serbia to move forward and make progress in normalizing relations.

"If we manage to do this, we will establish a stable, long-term, future-oriented relationship, going beyond the permanent crisis management that we have been doing in recent months. This will have a positive impact on the European path of Kosovo and Serbia and on strengthening the stability of the region. We hope to create a new dynamic and opportunity for expansion, which will be beneficial for the entire region," said Borrell./REL
