The topic of discussion in the Review show on Euronews Albania was the discovery of the oil reservoir in Shpirag and Prime Minister Rama's promise to create a sovereign fund on the revenues that will be collected.
Economy expert Fatos Çoçoli also revealed the calculations made by him regarding the money that can be collected from this fund.
According to him, for a sovereign fund to start functioning, it must collect at least a figure of 200 million euros. The oil fund of Shpirag can reach this figure for a period of one year.
He added that at the end of 7 years, the amount that the Albanian sovereign fund will collect will be 2.1 billion euros.
"We can raise the Sovereign Fund, but we can have different sources, why not copper and timber. By turning off the resources you can reach such a figure that you can start investing. To start investing, you must have at least a threshold of 200 million euros. When can we receive the first 200 million euros? Maybe even within 1 year, from this moment we are today. According to my calculation, I get 2.1 billion dollars that will accumulate in 7 years", said Çoçoli.
